How Far Would you Go to Make your dream come true?
Active Seniors being recruited!
How about helping to change the lives of inner city children by giving the rest of your life to helping kids experience one of the most popular music education activities of the 50's 60's and 70's?
Las Vegas: Randy Warner is to say the least, an eccentric 50 + gent who lives his life his way, and will push himself (and others) to the limits make his dreams come true!
What is his dream? To start up and field the very first DCI style brass and percussion corps in the city of Las Vegas –maybe even the entire state. It’s a year round adventure in music and more for kids that has been proven to be a life changing experience for many of us, born and raided in the inner cities across the county. Our goals include a senior/all age corps in the near future as well for local events, parades, trade shows and conventions.
What’s a Drum Corp?
Well – if you have to ask – it’s hard to describe – but let’s just say – it’s kind of like a high-school marching band on steroids, add a 5th of hot sauce, the excellence in performance of a top Las Vegas Headliner. BUT it is really much much more…
That’s some dream – it’s been tried before and failed in Las Vegas – but Randy is not one to simply try – he is wiling to do almost anything to bring this experience to life for over 500 kids of Las Vegas and the surrounding areas!
He has done all the usual life experiences - been the subject of a George Lucas Documentary, appeared in People magazine, saved a few thousand Dalmatians, sang for two presidents, etc.
His Las Vegas Marching Arts, Inc has it's Nevada charter and federal EIN # and he has put together his executive board and his board of directors – but there was something missing. He wanted more – he wanted as many of the best people from around the country to sit on his board – and so he gave a call to the 'SCORE' ( Senior Corps of Retired Executives) for some much needed professional guidance.
WE STILL NEED OTHER SENIORS TO HLEP US WITH CALLS, PUBLIC RELATIONS, FUNDRAISING AND EVERYTHING ELSE. Our expected first year budget to get this started will exceed $1.5 million.
Of course, there is much more to this story, much more to Randy Warner, and MUCH more to come from the Las Vegas Marching Arts organization.
